4 Ingredient Bread

4 Ingredient Bread

This 4 Ingredient Dough is a Game Changer

When my dad came over to cook lunch for us, he introduced me to this ridiculously easy bread dough and I’ve been making it on repeat ever since.

It’s made with just four ingredients, comes together in one bowl, and can be turned into flatbreads, burger buns, or bagels depending on what you’re in the mood for. No yeast. No rising time. Just simple, nourishing ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.

Here’s the recipe:

2 cups einkorn flour

1½ cups full-fat yogurt

1½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the yogurt and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead gently for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth. If it’s sticky, dust with a little extra flour.

From here, shaping is completely up to you:

For flatbreads, divide the dough into 6 pieces, roll each one out to about ¼ inch thick, and cook in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side.

For burger buns, shape the dough into 4 rounds and bake on a parchment-lined sheet at 375°F for 15 to 18 minutes.

For bagels, shape into 4 rings, boil each one for about 1 minute per side, then bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes until golden.

That’s it. No fuss, no rise time, and the texture is just right, soft, chewy, and with a light tang from the yogurt. We used the flatbreads for burgers today and everyone loved them
